response to colour research

"Paper permits a repeat use of precisely the same colour without the slightest change in tone, light, or surface quality"

"in our studies colour paper is preferred to paint for several reasons. Paper provides innumerable colours in a large range of shades and tints ready for immediate use"

"colour paper avoids unnecessary mixing of paints"

- Joseph Albers Interaction Of Colour

The images above are the best of images from the experiments that i have taken this week, after realising that paper should be used instead of ink i bought a pack of assorted cards exploring the different formulas of colour harmonies in analogous colours and complementary colours. I realised the limitations of using the card that was available and couldn't create the exact colour harmonies that i wanted. I decided in the end that i would try and create colour harmonies in my own way instead of recreating what Albers dictates. This is an image of one of the first images i took using two pieces of card, the aim was to get a mixture of colour between the orange and yellow.
